Why we’re here
The people working on Bento have spent our careers working in cross-functional teams. None of us have built, shipped, or sold something on our own. Yet projects and initiatives come saddled with memories of “overhead”, “process”, “chaos” and “nagging.” We want to be empowered with the right context to do our jobs well and to avoid inefficiencies of duplicate, or worse, throwaway work. We strive to be good leaders and teammates and minimize how often we interrupt our coworkers and disrupt their flow.
Over time, this has only gotten harder: our teammates went from using Office 365 to a collective arsenal of two or three dozen tools. One email notification exploded into hundreds. Our interactions went from working at a whiteboard to video calls all day. We went from sending each other long detailed emails, to throwing things inside chat for convenience and immediate gratification.
Collaboration is, frankly, under assault.
Bento brings together project teams in a gentler, calmer way. We automatically pull together content that teammates have worked on or shared, and helps project leads organize them in a way that is high-signal. We understand that content and decisions evolve rapidly, and give the team a way to understand change across each of these interfaces and tools. We’re also exploring novel ways of interoperability across tools. While most tools are trying to lock you into one tool, we believe in a world where choice allows teams to adapt, be dynamic, be human.
